Station Work...Diamondback Lives On!

It's been a long time since our last post, but lots have happened. Last Wednesday, workers at the hard hat site had attached blue tarp around the station to help the station become warm when they fill the cement. They finally filled the station with cement on 12/4. The hammerhead has not yet being installed as workers are working on the splash section and the station. Don Helbig delayed the final construction finishing date to around the beginning of January. The trains for the coaster have been spotted on-site last Sunday.

The entire ride is about 70% completed and the park will attach the giant hammerhead next. The ride should be finnaly completed around thanksgiving and ride testing will start when the winter thaws around February.

Queue Line and Station Update

Don Helbig last week had pronounced...

"Workmen began clearing the area where the queue line and station for Diamondback will be early this morning. The stage located to the left of the Rivertown Mining Company -- the location for the August 6 announcement of Diamondback -- was torn down this afternoon.

The Rivertown Mining Company building, where Red Beard's Ravenge was located during Halloween Haunt, has been cleared out and is expected to be torn down on Tuesday.

Work also continues in the area outside the entrance to the Beast. The new entrance to the Beast will be in virtually the same spot guests entered the ride when it first opened in 1979."

More updates will be posted later on in the week.
