Diamondback Drop Finished!
The entire ride of Diamondback is suddenly starting to make it's shape. Just over the past weekend, workers on the ride had finished attaching the first drop from the newly topped off lift hill. The entire ride is about 70% completed and the park will attach the giant hammerhead next. The ride should be finnaly completed around thanksgiving and ride testing will start when the winter thaws around February.

Queue Line and Station Update
Don Helbig last week had pronounced...
"Workmen began clearing the area where the queue line and station for Diamondback will be early this morning. The stage located to the left of the Rivertown Mining Company -- the location for the August 6 announcement of Diamondback -- was torn down this afternoon.
The Rivertown Mining Company building, where Red Beard's Ravenge was located during Halloween Haunt, has been cleared out and is expected to be torn down on Tuesday.
Work also continues in the area outside the entrance to the Beast. The new entrance to the Beast will be in virtually the same spot guests entered the ride when it first opened in 1979."
More updates will be posted later on in the week.

Goodbye Kings Island
As the weekend came to a close, long lines and sad faces were most common in the crouds of Kings Island's last day of it's 2008 Operating season. Don Helbig, general manager of the park, claims that "The next time the park will be open, it will feature 15 roller coasters instead of 14". Obviously Don was reffering to Diamondback. You can buy 2009 season passes at Kings Island Official Website. The KI Portal Staff will be releasing a 2008: Year in Review video soon.
