Goodbye Kings Island

As the weekend came to a close, long lines and sad faces were most common in the crouds of Kings Island's last day of it's 2008 Operating season. Don Helbig, general manager of the park, claims that "The next time the park will be open, it will feature 15 roller coasters instead of 14". Obviously Don was reffering to Diamondback. You can buy 2009 season passes at Kings Island Official Website. The KI Portal Staff will be releasing a 2008: Year in Review video soon. You can sign up for KI Portal e-mail updates by clicking the button on the sidebar. Have a great week!

Diamondback Lift Hill Topped Off!

It was heard on Thursday that the giant 215 foot lift hill of Diamondback was topped off at 9:00 a.m. The ride was originally going to be topped off Wednesday, but according to high winds, the ride got delayed. New Pictures were sent in.

Meanwhile, it was heard that the construction of Diamondback has been going well. The park claimed, on the media report on August 6th that Diamondback will finish their construction by Christmas, but the park has set a new date around Thanksgiving. The KI Portal Staff will hear more the weekend. Also, this weekend is Kings Island's last weekend so try to fit a short visit into your schedule because we heard that the park will be very busy. KI Portal will send a report on Sunday concluding this year's season. Happy Haloween!
